Alongside digital intermediate compositors, the good ol’ ’sutradhar’ returns to Indian cinema in a new singing avatar. Two of the bigger releases this summer, ‘Metro’ & ‘Jhoom..’, are using the wandering storyteller to narrate their plots.
It’s not much different in Yash Raj’s ‘Jhoom Barabr Jhoom’ where Amitabh plays this minstrel who roams the streets of London telling the tale of the film’s four protagonists – Abhishek, Lara Dutt, Preity Zinta, and Bobby Deol.
Amitabh is this evergreen romantic championing love by reliving the story of these young lovers. So, expect the nation to go ‘Kajra Re’ crazy again when Amitabh Jhooms on London streets to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s pulsating title track.
